What is Easter

Do you know what Easter is? Well, I do. So today we are going to talk about Easter. Easter is about the resurrection of Jesus Christ so it is not about the Easter bunny but there are still some activities that you can do on Easter Sunday but first let us talk about the symbols of Easter.

The Symbols of Easter
The Lamb and Easter lilies are some of the symbols for easter but I think there's more.

Now that you know about the symbols of easter, let us talk about the food that you can have for Easter.

Food for Easter.
Pretzels, candies, marshmallows, chocolates, jellybeans and more. Easter is actually the second candy consuming holiday.

Okay, I hope you know what is Easter now so anyway Happy Easter Sunday!

Learning Fruits for Babies Made with Toontastic

This video made with Toontastic is for babies to learn about fruits. In this video, there are only three fruits, orange, banana, and watermelon. There are more fruits but we didn't include the others because you cannot put more animation in the video. So we just used these three fruits. Anyway, this short video is interesting for babies and toddlers. I made this video with my sister Hana. She is two years old and she's learning how to talk and now she knows some fruits and their names. I also have a video about learning colors and my sister is with me there too.

Please check SakiTV on youtube to see my other videos and I will upload more baby learning videos soon.

Why I am Homeschooled

This article is why I like homeschool and why I don't like it sometimes. Today is homeschooling day and my mom asked me to write something about my experiences on my school. And here are the reasons why I like my schooling:

1. Because I can play and do my school at the same time.
2. I don't need to go out and walk to school.
3. It's fun learning especially when we travel and have our school outside.

And now here are the reasons why I sometimes don't like homeschool:

1. If I get a wrong answer, I have to do it all over again.
2. My little sister, Hana, keeps on bugging me everytime I school.
3. My mom sometimes gets angry at me if I don't get the problem she's asking me to solve.

These are the reasons why I homeschool and I have to finish this because my mom said she's going to add her article below about homeschooling too.

Now that you've read the perspective of homeschooling from my child, I guess it's my turn to reveal mine. I get this question a lot, "why homeschool?" I need not elaborate on this as it is not that accepted by a lot of parents here in the Philippines and a constant debate between homeschoolers and traditional schooling. Let's just leave it at that because we believe in homeschooling our child.

As what Saki did, I'll enumerate the top advantages and disadvantages of homeschooling.

Advantages:
1. Better sleep for the child and the parent. There's no need to wake up early in the morning to prepare for school. Although we have a schedule of her activities, there's no need to rush and no worrying about being late for school.
2. ‎Cost effective on transportation. School can be anywhere, more often at home so we save a lot on car transportation.
3. ‎No uniform needed. At times she goes to school on her swimsuit since her activity on that day is all about water. She gets to swim and do school at the same time.
4. ‎School can be anywhere. Although she has a little corner in the house specifically for school, we used almost all the corners of our house for her activities. In the kitchen, in the bathroom, in her room and even when we're out.
5. ‎We can easily track what subject she is having a hard time with. We practice and repeat everything until she is able to understand it.

I can fill more benefits from homeschooling but the ones listed here are the most important ones. And there are, of course, difficulties as well.

Disadvantages:
1. A thorough explanation of why we opt to homeschool our child everytime friends and family asks.
2. ‎Stressful especially when your child cannot seem to understand the subject at hand.
3. ‎You have to undergo some advanced research as a preparation for your child will have plenty of questions after every lesson.
4. ‎Motivating my child to do better and concentrate on her study.
5. ‎Finding some like minds to better understand us and my child as a homeschooler.

Homeschooling will either work for your child or not. The context of this kind of educating your child lies in your hand. It needs your full attention and grasp on the curriculum you want to instill on your child's education. As for us, we know the capabilities and weaknesses of our child. And with homeschooling, we'll be able to correct her weaknesses and boost her talents at the same time at our own pace.
