Today’s book review is The Land of Stories, A Treasury of Classic Fairy Tales. If you already read The Land of Stories series (which I have been reading a lot lately) then this would make more sense.
Have you ever wondered when you are reading a Land of Stories books (the main series books) you’ll feel like you are with Alex and Connor as they journey with the adventures of the book and it gets real the more pages you read? And do you feel like you want to fall into a beam of light in the Treasury and end up in the fairy tale dimension? Well, that’s why this book is here it doesn’t only have great illustrations about the classic literature but it contains the greatest classic stories of all time as well. It also has a beam of light that can make you travel into the world of classic literature just like how Alex and Connor did. Well, at least I think it would…
Anyway, there are a LOT of lessons that can be learned here like empathy, kindness, and more that we can apply to our daily lives. Take honesty as an example. I mean do you want your nose to grow as long as Pinocchio’s or do you want to get eaten by a wolf just like what happened to The Boy Who Cried wolf? Well, I know this won’t really happen in real life but if you lie (even if it’s a white lie) it will only make matters worse and that’s why I think honesty should be a lesson that we should apply to our lives.
The Treasury of the Classic Fairy Tales is written by Chris Colfer and we don’t only praise him for making this treasure of stories but the Land of Stories too. We should also thank the original creators of the greatest classic literature of all time such as The Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen, etc. In fact, if the classic literature didn’t exist then this book wouldn’t exist either.
Brandon Dorman is the illustrator of this book and we should thank his art too. The book will not be that great if not because of the wonderful drawings for each story.
Thank you for reading my review and hope I can read more as I start another adventure in the pages of a book.
