The Library of Ever Book Review

I just read Zeno Alexander’s The Library of Ever and here's what I think about it.

My Summary:

The main character is Lenora, a girl who had a rich family but had nothing to do. One day she and her unattentive nanny went out to the library but the nanny won't let Lenora go with her. So instead of waiting in the limousine Lenora ventures to the library where she meets a mean man who is not letting a young boy read books in the children's section. He says to the boy that the books are full of lies but Lenora feels there is something fishy about the man. She then tells the man that if the books are full of lies then why is it there. The man then replies that he's taking them off soon and he points out that he is the librarian although the word librarian on his badge is spelled wrong. Lenora then persuades the boy to go read the books and she was about to tell the real librarian about the man but the man disappeared out of nowhere. She then goes back to reading a book peacefully until a loud crack startles her. She finds out that the loud crack was coming from a blank wall that turned into an archway with a sign carved saying ‘knowledge is a light’. Curious, Lenora ventures into the archway then she sees a glow and hears voices. She runs to the glow and sees a bridge getting closer as she runs. She nearly falls on her knees seeing around her two soaring walls of books and rolling ladders on very high bookshelves. Lenora wanders around a bit only to be stopped by a woman who tells her that she is not allowed at this part of the library and only people who work there are allowed. The woman is the librarian who asks Lenora how she got there. The librarian further asks Lenora if she is going to follow the rules. At the end of the librarian’s many questions, she hired Lenora as an apprentice. Now Lenora has to face big problems and challenges ahead but is she ready for that?

My Review:

I really liked this book and I can't wait for the next one. This book is actually based on a real librarian named Lenora. Like Lenora, I like books and I can lose myself in a jungle of books like I can imagine myself within the story of the book. Also, knowledge can be our strength. And that knowledge is just at the tip of our finger, all we need to do is decide to grab it or not. The more you read the more you become powerful. But some knowledge is dying since people don't study it much anymore (ex: Native Languages). As Zeno Alexander says ‘Knowledge is a Light’, anyone can learn it but maybe we can also spread it so a lot of people can learn. And you know what, as you read this you are also learning new knowledge.
