The Keys to the Kingdom | Mr Monday Book Report

My Book Report is written by Garth Nix's book called “The Keys to the Kingdom, Mister Monday”. The setting of the story is the house where the different exteriors are actually a portal to another dimension however the house is only visible to Arthur.

The Keys To The Kingdom: Mr Monday

Arthur Penhaligon, a boy who’s supposed to die gets his life changed by a minute hand called the key, the key has powers to do anything it’s master commands. Given by Mr. Monday. Mr. Monday wants the key back and he will do anything to get it back.

The Setting: The House

Mr. Monday’s minions called the Fetchers are trying to retrieve the key for him while bringing a deadly disease that causes an outbreak. Arthur now must find a way to stop the virus and to fulfill his destiny, he must venture into the House, a portal to another dimension. He meets allies and foes along the way such as Suzy Blue, an ink filler with a frog in her mouth. The frog is The Will, she was a friend of the architect who built the house and befriended Arthur. Arthur soon gets thrown into a pit by one of Monday’s minions. He befriends new characters who gave him advice on how to defeat Mr. Monday.

The Key Elements: The House, The Keys and The Frog

Suzy rescues Arthur out of the pit. He needs to find the hour hand key to defeat Mr. Monday. He reaches Monday’s office, called the Dayroom, and faces some challenges including losing Suzy in a battle.

My Sketch: Arthur and Mr. Monday

Arthur faces his opponent, Mr. Monday. He finds out nothing could hurt Monday and he also finds out that Suzy didn’t actually die. He did defeat Monday and retrieved the two keys and a cure. But he couldn’t go home since he was now a master. So they made special arrangements for him. Therefore, he did go home and reunite with his family and used the cure. The end or is it?

Polly Pocket Pollyville Ice Cream Truck | Unboxing

This is a new unboxing video! Since I don't do many videos anymore because I am busy with school, I thought I could share my sister’s unboxing instead. But I will try to catch on fall break which is a week from now.

So here's another unboxing video but this time with a Polly pocket toy. It’s a small ice cream truck with a small doll included. And my barely 4-yr old sister Hana is opening it! She was so excited to have a new toy so we gave the chance to Hana to unbox and play with it at the same time. So I guess you will see my sister’s participation in my future videos. But not only about unboxing but also playing with toys and a lot more.

The toy is a miniature ice cream truck. It is so small perfect for my sister's hands. My sister likes the toy, she keeps on playing with it. The pocket toy includes some small furniture such as a chair, a table, and an ice cream signage. Not only that but there is also a small rubber doll, Polly Pocket herself. Also, the ice cream truck can be opened to show to the inside where Polly can serve ice cream.

Maybe we can get more of those Polly pocket toys and show them to you soon. I’d love to meet Lila, Shani, Gwen, Griselle, Grandma pocket and more.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video and also thank you for watching.

Remembering 9/11 | Never Forget

Today is September 11 so I decided to write about a book called I Survived, The Attacks of September 11, 2001.

The story begins with a boy named Lucas who loves football more than anything else. But one day he sustained a concussion and is rushed to the hospital. Back at home, Lucas's parents decided that he should quit football because it was dangerous. Lucas pleaded to his parents to put him back to play football but his parents don't want him to.

Lucas decided that he was going to talk to his uncle also known as his coach in football. So instead of going to school, Lucas took the train to the city and went to the fire station where his uncle works. But when he gets there and he was able to talk to his uncle, he learned that it was his uncle who told his parents to quit football. Lucas got angry but then suddenly they saw a plane flying so low and it was headed for the twin towers.

The plane they saw hit one of the twin towers. Everyone in the vicinity was so shocked and scared. Plus 50,000 people were working in the twin towers that day. Everywhere firefighters, police officers and paramedics came altogether to help even his uncle. Then suddenly it happened again. Another plane hit the other tower. Smoke and dust were everywhere. At last Lucas's father arrived just on time to get him to safety.

But the story doesn't end there, there's more and I'm not going to spoil it for you. You can read the rest of the story from I Survived, The Attacks of September 11, 2001.

I wrote this article to honor the people who sacrificed their lives just to save other people. And I also want to honor the people who survived that day and the author, Lauren Tarshis who wrote this great book. What I learned from the book is about the sacrifices and the victims on that tragic day. That 9/11 will always be remembered for the courage and the sacrifices of saving lives.

Hilda Comics Review

I met Hilda in Netflix. I got hooked right away and finished the whole season in just a couple of days. I can't wait for season 2 even if it's still far from 2020, I’m hoping that it will be worth the wait. Hilda is also known as Hildafolk and the author and illustrator is Luke Pearson. Hilda's setting is a magical world where their house is surrounded by the enchanted forest. You can find interesting characters like a troll, giants, elves and a lot more. It is fascinating enough for me because of the intriguing story and the adventures of Hilda and her friends. As much as I love Hilda, my sister Hana likes it too. She just turned four and she already likes Hilda too or maybe colorful books instead. These books that my dad bought are graphic ones. Hana even insisted to add her name on the first page where you can see who the owner of the book is. Such a cute toddler, but sometimes there are times when I don't feel like playing with her because she insists on what she wants. Oh well, my mom said she's still young and try to understand and teach her the good ways. I'm the older one so I think I really have to show her how to play properly. For sure when you watch it on Netflix, you'll love it too as much as I did. You might want to own her books too, these my dad bought on sale at Amazon. I actually wanted the novel, not the graphics one but it was not on sale and my dad couldn’t find it on Amazon, so he just bought the comics instead. It’s still also a good one and it's still from Hilda. The story though is way different from the Netflix show. In the comics Hilda camps outside the house but in the show, Hilda did not. The story is still good and very unpredictable so I think you should read or watch since the series is good too even if it's different as compared to the books.
